Sweet September
This month has brough many sweet moments both in our services and outside of them.
Picnic at Abbey Park
We started the month with a picnic lunch in Abbey park. Because we weren’t able to have our annual BBQ as usual, we decided to enjoy the beauty on our doorstep by walking over to Abbey Park to share a picnic. We feasted on Joloff rice, various crisp and sweet treats, while taking in the gorgeous weather.
We then cracked out the core hole (an American game consisting of two boards and several bean bags), some footballs, and a frisbee (what a classic). It was a blessed afternoon.
Children’s Ministry
The children at BRBC are back at it with junior church and their mid-week zoom session.
In September the children learned about John the Baptist, his ministry, and what baptism is. They even got to hear a testimony from Mary who was baptised 71 years ago! She brought her original baptism certificate to show them.
Colossians 2:12-13
“12 having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.
13 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins,”
Harvest Sunday
It was a pleasure to celebrate Harvest Sunday by remembering we have a God who provides for all our needs.
Sandy coordinated a lovely segment which the children participated in by reading poems, singing songs, and watching a brief video about a young girl who has done great things for the environment where she lives- something we should all be doing in our own cities!
Praise God for his faithfulness, for his goodness, and for the beautiful Earth he’s given us.
2 Corinthians 9:8
“8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”

Prayers and Praises
Prayer requests:
Pray for members health- pray that God would give strength, peace, and perseverance to those struggling with physical and mental illness.
Pray for God to provide a minister to lead us.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to grow love, compassion, forgiveness and non judgement in our hearts.
Praises:
Praise God for his faithfulness in times of transition - for providing visiting ministers and our own members to preach.
Praise God for the children participating in Harvest Sunday and growing in their love and understanding of God.
Praise God for a steady stream of people hiring our building as this provides income to the church.
A Closing Thought
1 Thessalonians 5:16-17
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.”
Let us encourage one another to live this way, rejoicing, praying, and constantly giving thanks to God who is so good.
May the Lord bless you and keep you always.
