Marching into March
March seems to have come and gone so quickly, and there are many updates, prayers and praises to share!
What a month it has been!
Miraculous Provision
This month God miraculously provided for Dorcas’s university tuition through the generosity of our church members. Because Dorcas was able to pay her tuition on time, everyone in her family was able to keep their visa status and stay in the UK while Dorcas finishes her studies.
It’s a Girl!
Following this miraculous provision, Dorcas gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Lois Favour. This stunning little girl surprised us because the doctor told Dorcas and Sunday they would be having a boy!
Regardless of the baby’s gender, we are all overjoyed that both Dorcas and her precious baby are healthy and resting now.
A Home of Their Own
The miraculous provisions don’t stop there! The Mendoza family moved out of the hotel they were staying in and into a flat which the council provided them as permanent accommodation!
This is a huge answer to prayer and the Mendoza family thank everyone at BRBC who has helped them and prayed for them along this long journey.
The Young Adults
Our new Young Adults Life Group is in full swing! After starting to meet in February, they have been gathering every Tuesday evening since.
They share snacks and tea, dig into the Bible, and worship the Lord together.
The Youth
The Youth Life Group has been very active since the start of this year, hosting hang outs in the newly refurbished long room! Access to this room means they can have ping-pong tournaments, more space to chill, and they can enjoy all the hard work that went into renovating the building late last year.
The Youth has even had time to celebrate in anticipation of Easter. Andrea organised an Easter themed quiz with prizes and snacks for everyone to enjoy!
We’ve Adopted a Panda!
Another exciting update is that Junior church has decided to adopt a Panda through WWF (World Wildlife Fund). They will receive a little panda plushie along with regular updates about how their contribution is helping pandas across the globe!
This will give the children a chance to actively learn about and help endangered animals.
Prayers & Praises
Every month we have many prayer requests and praises- let’s join together in praying for these things:
Prayer requests:
Pray that God would bless our Easter Service & that many people would join us in celebrating our risen King!
Pray that the Lord would comfort the Akintaro family as they grieve the loss of their father and celebrate his life.
Pray that God would give strength and patience to members of our congregation who are still in the asylum process.
Praises:
Dorcas & Sunday’s baby girl was born! Dorcas and the baby are healthy and recovering- Praise the Lord.
Our community is beautifully diverse and always growing! Praise God for his faithfulness to us which never ends!
The Mendoza family now have a permanent home in Leicester and they are settled! Praise God for his provision!
Things to look out for in April:
BRBC will host a memorial/celebration service for Abi’s father, Joseph Ayodeji Awomosu. The Akintaro family invites us to join them in celebration on Saturday, April 8th at Buckminster Road Baptist Church from 11am- 12pm.
Easter Sunday is coming up! On Sunday, April 9th we will have a service for the adults & an easter egg hunt for the kids during the service. Invite your friends and family!
We will not be having adult life group, youth life group, or children’s Zoom for the first two weeks of April because of Easter holidays!
There will be a leaders meeting on April 23rd and member’s meeting on April 30th.
